I do not know what I had expected from the Serengeti but it was for me the highlight of the Safari, the one thing I really looked forward to experience even though every day up to this point had amazed me by more beauty and astonishment and so it continued.
We left camp relatively early morning and went out on the Savannah in search for the big five. The Serengeti is absolutely unique. A rare experience and a great feel to it.
A mixture of stunning beauty, dusty landscapes, sparse vegetation, the unforgiving heat and the brutal life among the animals and still it holds so much tranquility.
Serengeti host the largest migration in the world and yearly millions of animals migrate from Kenya in the early spring. And so it happens that we were so fortunate to witness this moment where thousands and thousands of animals relocating in search for water. Impossible to give a figure of how many zebras and wildebeest we saw, but there was a lot. All gathering in one big chaotic mass to get to the water. Amazing!
I will never find the Savannah tiresome. We sit for hours and watch this beauty, the movement of the animals, their communication and the mutual instinct and protection with the between flocks.
So much to absorb, so much diversity, so many experiences and of course the beauty of my so favorite acacia trees.
Finding it so interesting to follow your travels in Africa. You write well, and the pics are amazing. All the best from Stein in Bergen!
