We spent 5 days wonderful days with Oscar and Jimmy and with each passing moment we enjoyed each other’s company more and more. Graciously Oscar at the end of the safari invited us to his home in Moshi to enjoy with him and his family a traditional Tanzanian dinner.
What a delight it was to spend time with Oscar’s daughter Sarah. Since arriving here, we have learned only a few words in Swahili but this did not prevent Sarah from finding many ways to make us smile and laugh with her, taking pictures, sharing jewellery and trying on my glasses. From the moment we arrived to Africa we have been impressed on how friendly the people have been and how much they go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

We washed our hands the old fashioned way, with a jug of water and bowl and then proceeded with our meal. Spoiled once again by Jimmy’s stunning cooking ability, we enjoyed warm banana stew, Tanzanian pancakes and coconut beans. Our taste buds continued to be stimulated by the testing of the local Tanzanian red wine, sweet and refreshing. What a treat it was to have this experience.
